Lighting design

Statens Museum for Kunst, the Danish National Gallery, closed its skylights due to new fire restrictions.

Rambøll Lighting helped implement an artificial light source that, in comparison with natural daylight, gives more even light distribution and can easily be controlled.

The light distribution and colour rendition are very close to that of natural daylight and so the galleries appear open and true to the architectural intent of the space. This formed the backbone of a comprehensive lighting scheme for the refurbished galleries.
